innocent drinks things we make us news family bored? press careers

We've counted every single innocent Big Knit little hat here at fruit towers and we still can't get over the generosity and knitting talent out there. We received thousands and thousands of hats and we'd like to thank each and every one of you knitting superstars who sent in a hat.

Thanks to your time and effort, we'll be giving a huge donation to Age Action to help keep old people warm this winter. For every behatted bottle sold in store, we will give 25c to Age Action. So here's a personal thank you from us to all you knitting extraordinaires out there.

Last year the nation got knitting for the innocent big knit campaign. A whopping 80,000 little hats were knit by generous people all over Ireland, raising €20,000 and much needed awareness for Age Action Ireland. With such a harsh winter last year, the funds were put to great use to ensure that older people in Ireland stayed well and warm.

It's a sad fact that every year in Ireland around 2000 people over the age of 65 die from cold related conditions. Which is where your knitted goods come in. All monies raised from the innocent Big Knit this year will go towards supporting Age Action to help keep older people in Ireland warm.

Age Action spokesperson Eamon Timmins says "Winter is challenging time for some older people and it is important that everyone plays their part to ensure that those who are frail or house-bound remain safe and well over this period."

"We are reminding people to call in on their older neighbours to ensure they have enough fuel and basics such as milk and bread. Older people can also play their part by keeping in telephone contact with eachother and with their family and neighbors." You can find out more about the wonderful work that Age Action do on their website www.ageaction.ie.
