fill yourself with good stuff.

fruit & veg is good for you who knew?

At innocent, we’ve always been about helping people live well and die old. That’s why making healthy drinks full of good stuff has been our mission since day one. That, and attempting to wear our dressing gowns to work. At least we succeeded at the healthy little drinks thing.

Most people should be eating more fruit and veg. FACT. Even if you’re scoffing celery, mainlining marrows and gobbling all sorts of different greens, you still might struggle to hit your five-a-day. Our smoothies and juices are a great, tasty way to change that because they’re 1 of your 5-a-day and, yeah you guessed it, very tasty. So far, we’ve served over 10 billion portions of fruit and veg through our little drinks (and counting). That’s a lot of fruit and veg. A shedload, in fact (if you own the world’s biggest shed).

30,000 meals through FoodCloud

We’re very proud to be partnering with FoodCloud, a not for profit Irish social enterprise with a vision of a world where no good food goes to waste. We’re helping FoodCloud bring 30,000 meals, packed with fruit & veg, to those who need them. Here’s a little bit more information about FoodCloud and all the brilliant work they do:

Launched in 2013 by co-founders Iseult Ward and Aoibheann O’Brien, FoodCloud is a not for profit social enterprise working to tackle the twin issues of food waste and food security by redistributing surplus food from the food industry to a network of charity and community partners.

In Ireland, FoodCloud offers two services to redistribute surplus food to a network of over 700 community groups: Through their technology platform that connects supermarkets with surplus or excess food directly to local community groups, and through their three warehouses that redistribute large quantities of surplus food from the supply chain to their network of community groups all over Ireland

In the UK, FoodCloud works in partnership with food redistribution NGO FareShare to connect over 2,900 stores directly with over 7,000 local charities across the country. Internationally, the FoodCloud technology is used across multiple food banks worldwide.

re-routing our drinks to charities

We never want our drinks to go to waste, so we give lots of our spare stock to charities, food banks and people who could really do with them. Since we started, we have given over 30 million drinks to people who need them. That’s over 12 million litres. That’s enough to fill 12 million litre jugs. Or something more interesting like a load of swimming pools but we can’t be bothered to do the maths.

tasty recipes packed with the stuff

We know cooking with fruit & veg can sometimes be a bit of a chore (watery spinach, anyone?) and we want to help take it to new tasty levels with a few simple recipes. Our friends in the UK have teamed up with the Felix Project on some nutritious recipes that are packed with the good stuff and won’t make you want to have a packet of crisps afterwards. Ever tried barbecuing a Brussels sprout? You’ve been missing out.

our little drinks

Oh, who put this here? Well, since you ask, our little drinks are one way you can enjoy tasty fruit and veg as we find just that and pop it in our drinks. No artificial sweeteners, no preservatives and definitely no other nonsense in there at all. We’ve never added sugar to our drinks and we never will. The only sugar you’ll find in our juices and smoothies is the natural stuff that comes in fruit and veg.

Smoothies and juices are an easy way to help you get your 5-a-day, which is pretty handy since 85% of people in Ireland we asked said they weren’t getting their 5-a-day.

You only need one 150ml glass of an innocent juice or smoothie to hit one of your 5-a-day. That’s a lot easier than downing a pint (not that we would know). For the other four, try any fruit or veg that's fresh, frozen, dried or canned. Nature has very kindly given us a whole rainbow of fruit and veg to choose from, so it's only polite to try as many of them as we can. Whether you prefer to eat or drink your fruit & veg, we fully support your life choices.
